SHOPIAN: A shelter case registered at the One Stop Centre (OSC), Shopian on April 11, 2026 has been successfully resolved, with the survivor safely reunited with her family after completion of all required procedures.

During her stay at Shelter Home, OSC Shopian, the survivor from Bihar was provided with safe shelter, counselling, medical and police assistance in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring her safety and well being.

Continuous care and supervision were maintained to safeguard her dignity and facilitate her recovery. Through coordinated efforts and inter-state liaison with concerned police and OSC authorities in Bihar, her family was traced and the handover was conducted following due procedure, ensuring all necessary safeguards and verifications.

The case reflects the effectiveness of institutional mechanisms in addressing cases requiring immediate protection and rehabilitation, with emphasis on a coordinated and humane approach.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
