BARAMULLA: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, police in Baramulla intensified its anti-narcotics efforts through a combination of strict enforcement and community outreach initiatives.

Police Station Kunzer, along with the PSK-9 team, conducted naka checking and search operations at various hotspot locations, including the busy Kunzer–Gulmarg road. Several vehicles were intercepted and thoroughly checked to identify suspicious movements and ensure compliance with legal provisions, thereby deterring drug trafficking.

During the drive, awareness pamphlets highlighting the SSP Baramulla helpline/rapid response mechanism were distributed among the general public and displayed at key locations to encourage reporting of narcotics-related activities.

Police Post Mirgund organized a special awareness programme at Village Yakhmanpora, Tehsil Singhpora. The programme was led In-Charge PP Mirgund along with Beat Officer, and witnessed active participation from local residents.

The speakers emphasized the harmful effects of drug abuse, the importance of community vigilance, and the role of youth engagement in constructive activities. The programme concluded with a collective pledge to make the area drug-free. Police reiterates its commitment to eradicating the drug menace and urges citizens to actively support this mission by sharing information about any suspicious activities.
