JAMMU: Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Devansh Yadav today encouraged the vendors to avail benefits of PM Street Vendors’ Atma Nirbhar Nidhi ( PM SVANidhi) - a special micro- credit facility launched by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under Atma Nirbhar Bharat initiative. The Commissioner said that the scheme was launched with the aim to provide financial support to the street vendors through working capital loans, incentivize regular repayment, and to promote digital transaction.
He was speaking at an event organized to handover PM SVANIDHI plates to the Vendors. Dr. Yadav assured the street vendors that their welfare would remain a priority. He also urged them not to keep their rehries on footpaths and roads, as this causes inconvenience to pedestrians and contributes to traffic congestion. He encouraged vendors to install their rehries at designated places within the municipal jurisdiction to maintain a smooth flow of traffic and public convenience. Deputy Commissioner, (North) Sanjay Badyal, Deputy Commissioner, (South) Lal Chand and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
