SRINAGAR: In a proactive initiative to educate students on safe online practices, Police in Pulwama organised Cyber Awareness Programmes at multiple educational institutions, including High School Washbugh, Government Middle School Dougam and Government Higher Secondary School Achen. These events aimed to inform students about the importance of cyber safety, the risks associated with online activities and preventive measures to protect against cybercrimes.
The program at High School Washbugh was led by DySP Headquarters, who was joined by the cyber unit team. Together, they engaged with the students and faculty, addressing questions and sharing real-world examples of online risks and security measures. Similar sessions were held at Government Middle School Dougam and Government Higher Secondary School Achen, where local police officers guided students on best practices for maintaining privacy, recognizing phishing attempts and avoiding unsafe online interactions.
The events received positive responses from students and teachers, who appreciated the efforts to build a safer online community. General public are requested to inform nearest Police unit or dial 112 for any sort of cyber fraud or any other assistance.
