POONCH: In a major push to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship, 30 loan cases have been approved under Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) being implemented by Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB). The interviews for these cases were conducted here at the Dak Bungalow, where applicants applied for establishing a variety of business and industrial units.
The interview panel comprised District Social Welfare Officer Khalil A Banday, Project Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) Jagdeep Singh, Superintendent ITI, representatives from the banking sector and the District Head KVIB. Their collective expertise ensured transparency and fairness in the selection process.
The government sponsored scheme provides financial assistance with a 35% subsidy component, enabling aspiring entrepreneurs to set up viable units while reducing the burden of capital investment. The initiative is expected to benefit a large section of the population by creating new livelihood opportunities, encouraging youth entrepreneurship and strengthening the local economy. The approved units will not only support self reliance but also contribute to the districtâs overall industrial and economic growth.
