The Survival Fight of JK Monitor : For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.), who treated me like a brother and mentor. His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. We appeal to well-wishers to extend a helping hand to keep our active newsroom alive. Support Us: WhatsApp: +91-9906103001 | Email: journalistajmerwani@gmail.com

SHOPIAN: In line with the Government of India's flagship initiative for Good Governance, a crucial meeting on ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ was today chaired by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar at Mini-Secretariat, here. The meeting aimed at strengthening grassroots administration and ensuring transparent, efficient service delivery to the rural population.

The DC stressed the importance of delivering government services in a time-bound and hassle-free manner to the people. Special focus was laid on ensuring equitable access to schemes and benefits for all citizens, especially marginalized communities. Strategies were discussed and threadbare discussion was held to improve inter-departmental coordination for effective implementation of programmes in this regard.

The DC directed for holding awareness camps in rural areas at Panchayat and Blocks to educate citizens about available government schemes. This meeting underscores the district administration's commitment to fostering Good Governance, ensuring the benefits of development reach the last mile, and bridging the gap between government and the people. ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, CPO, ACD, District Officers and other concerned were present.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity.
