NEW DELHI: Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, Rajya Sabha MP and educationist, has continued to undertake a series of community-focused initiatives under Seva Sankalp, with an emphasis on social welfare, education, community development, youth engagement and nation-building.

Through Seva Sankalp, Dr Mittal has organised and supported initiatives including Seva Sushasan Vikas, bringing together diplomats, dharmagurus and members of the community to encourage dialogue around development and public service. Other initiatives have included Aashirwad Ka Dhaga – Seva Sankalp, Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang, and an Innovation Marathon, aimed at encouraging community participation, creativity and innovation.

The Seva Sankalp programme has also extended to educational and youth-focused activities. An elocution and painting competition, ‘Mere Sapno Ka Bharat,’ was organised at St. Joseph School, providing students with a platform to express their vision for India. A blood donation camp at Lovely Professional University was also conducted as part of the initiative.

Community welfare and local infrastructure have remained an important component of these efforts. Through the MPLAD Fund, ₹1.5 crore was allocated towards two cremation-ground development projects — ₹1 crore for the project at Deep Nagar, Cantt, and ₹50 lakh for the project at Model Town.

Seva Sankalp has also included direct community outreach, such as blanket distribution in Ram Bagh, reflecting an effort to extend support to people and communities through initiatives addressing immediate as well as long-term needs.

Through these diverse initiatives, Seva Sankalp seeks to bring together service, education, community development and public participation, with the larger objective of contributing to inclusive and meaningful social development.
