The Survival Fight of JK Monitor : For 16 years, JK Monitor has chronicled Jammu and Kashmir with integrity. Since 2010, I have steered its newsroom alongside our visionary Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan (IIT Kharagpur alumnus, University of Maryland Ph.D.), who treated me like a brother and mentor. His tragic demise in October 2026 left a severe financial and operational vacuum. Without urgent support, our 24/7 news portal risks permanently shutting down after November 2026, remaining only as a static digital archive. DODA: District Administration Doda, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, organised a historic Mega Tiranga Rally that will be remembered for years to come. This remarkable event featured a record-setting 1508-metre-long Tricolour Flag, meticulously prepared by the administration and proudly carried by school students in a magnificent display of patriotism.

The rally commenced from the Entry Point – Welcome Doda Gate and culminated at the Community Hall, with streets echoing the spirit of unity and nationalism. The event witnessed massive participation from students of various government and private schools, district officers, officials from multiple departments, social workers, NGOs, media fraternity and the general public. Participants enthusiastically raised patriotic slogans and sang national songs, creating an atmosphere charged with emotion and national pride. The rally was flagged off jointly by DDC Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal and DC Doda Harvinder Singh, setting the tone for a grand celebration.

The rally was graced by prominent dignitaries, including DDC Vice Chairperson Sangeeta Rani, SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta, ADC Anil Kumar Thakur, ADDC Roshan Lal, District Programme Officer Akhtar Hussain Qazi, ACD Din Mohd Afaqi, CEO Mohd Hafiz, CPO Manesh Kumar Manhas, District Social Welfare Officer and District Information Officer Tariq Parveez Qazi, Executive Officer MC Yasir Wani and other senior district officers. Their presence not only motivated the participants but also reflected the administration's collective commitment to fostering patriotism and unity.

Similar Tiranga rallies and celebrations were also organised across the district, including at Bhaderwah, Gandoh and Thathri, where students from institutions such as GHSS Bhaderwah, HSS Gandoh and GHSS Thathri took part with great zeal. These events mirrored the spirit of the main rally, with streets in every corner of the district adorned in the tricolour, cultural performances by local artists and students enthusiastically waving flags, singing patriotic songs and taking pledges to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation.

The celebrations concluded with a grand cultural programme at the Community Hall, where students, artists from the Cultural Academy and local performers presented colourful and soulful patriotic performances. Songs, dances and cultural acts showcasing India's diversity and unity drew loud applause from the audience. The day's events served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for the nation's freedom and the importance of nurturing national pride among future generations.
