In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

SHOPIAN: In a significant step towards enhancing operational preparedness and strengthening the security grid, police in Shopian conducted a comprehensive Joint Mock Drill at Padpawan, Railway Track Wachi and Heerpora areas of the district.

The exercise was aimed at assessing the operational readiness, coordination and swift response capabilities of the participating security forces in dealing with any emergent security situation. The mock drill simulated various operational scenarios requiring prompt action, coordinated response and strict adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The exercise witnessed the active participation of joint teams from SOG Gagren, Markhor Team of District Police Shopian, 14/178 Battalions CRPF and 44/55 Rashtriya Rifles, reflecting seamless coordination and synergy among the security agencies.

Special emphasis was laid on coordinated movement, area domination, communication protocols, tactical response and implementation of SOPs to ensure maximum efficiency during real-time operations. The mock drill also included area domination and security exercises along the Railway Track at Wachi, aimed at enhancing preparedness for safeguarding critical infrastructure and ensuring swift response to any security contingency. Prior to the exercise, participating personnel were comprehensively briefed on the objectives and execution plan of the drill, followed by a detailed debriefing session to review the response, identify areas for improvement and reinforce operational procedures.

The mock drill concluded peacefully and successfully, reaffirming the commitment of J&K Police and other participating security forces to maintaining a high level of preparedness, ensuring effective coordination and responding swiftly to any security challenge in the district.
