DODA: District Police Doda today organised a Wrestling (Dangal) Competition 2026 at Government Degree College (GDC) Ground Doda under the Civic Action Programme 2025–26, aiming to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement and positive community participation. The event was inaugurated by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta who declared the competition open by ribbon cutting.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local wrestlers and a large gathering of spectators, reflecting strong cultural and sporting spirit of the region. Among those present on the occasion were ASP Doda, DySP Headquarters Doda, Dy SP DAR Doda, Dy SP Operations Doda, SHO Doda, staff members of Government Degree College Doda, officials from the civil and police administration, prominent citizens and a large number of youth.

The competition featured several exciting bouts, culminating in the final match which drew excitement from the audience. The winner of the final bout was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 30,000, while the runner-up received Rs. 20,000 as recognition of their outstanding performance.

In addition, cash prizes were distributed among all participating wrestling teams by the District Police Doda as a gesture of encouragement and appreciation for their participation and sporting spirit. The event concluded with appreciation for the participants and organisers for successfully conducting the programme and promoting traditional sports in the district.
