IIM Jammu conducts Second Entrepreneurship Awareness Program in Udhampur, expands regional outreach

JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu, through its Incubation Centre – DST iTBI IIM Jammu, conducted the second Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) under its five-program regional series supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.

The program was hosted at Government Degree College, Udhampur, bringing together enthusiastic participation from students at Government Degree College, Majalta, Government Degree College, Chenani, Government Degree College, Ramnagar, and Government College for Women, Udhampur. The event created a vibrant platform for students and faculty to explore entrepreneurship as a structured and impactful career pathway.

The academic and practical sessions focused on building strong entrepreneurial foundations:

• From Idea to Opportunity: Foundations of Business Ideation and Formalizing Your Venture: Business Structures & Registration Pathways – delivered by Dr. Vivek Sharma, emphasizing structured ideation, validation, and strategic venture planning.

• Financial Literacy for Entrepreneurs – conducted by Dr. Nidhi Verma, IIM Jammu Incubatee& Entrepreneur, providing practical insights into budgeting, funding avenues, and financial discipline.
• Digital Growth Strategies: Marketing, Branding & Online Presence – led by Ms. Druvi Sharma, highlighting the importance of digital positioning and leveraging online tools for scalable growth.

The program was coordinated and managed by the IIM Jammu Incubation Team under the guidance of Dr. Pranab Ranjan Das – Chairperson Centre for Small Business Development, IIM Jammu, Dr. Muqbil Burhan – Chairperson, Centre for Entrepreneurship Innovation & Skill Development , IIM Jammu & Dr. Vivek Sharma – Chief Innovation Officer IIM Jammu , along with Mr. Kannav Padha- Manager DST iTBI IIM Jammu, Ms. Druvi Sharma - Deputy Manager DST iTBI IIM Jammu, and Ms. Anjali Goswami - Assistant Manager Accounts DST iTBI IIM Jammu.

As the second program in the five-part regional series, this initiative reinforces IIM Jammu’s commitment to strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship and nurturing a culture of innovation across Jammu & Kashmir. The upcoming EAPs will continue to expand institutional engagement and empower youth with practical knowledge, mentorship pathways, and ecosystem support.
