SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today visited various stretches of historical Mughal Road enroute Per Ki Gali to take stock of the snow clearance operations for reopening of the vital link connecting Kashmir valley with Pir Panjal region. During the visit, DC assessed the pace of the ongoing work being undertaken by the Mechanical Engineering Department, Shopian. It was informed that more men and machinery have been pressed into service for early snow clearance.

Emphasizing the importance of the arterial road, DC directed AEE to expedite the clearance process and ensure the road is made traffic-worthy at the earliest. He also stressed on maintaining safety protocols and deploying adequate machinery to speed up the work. The reopening of the Mughal Road is eagerly awaited as it plays a crucial role in regional connectivity, especially during the summer months.
