RAMBAN: District Administration Ramban, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Alyas Khan, today launched the three-day Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) campaign across the district.

On the inaugural day of the IPPI Campaign–2025, the Deputy Commissioner administered polio vaccine drops to children at CHC Banihal. Meanwhile, MLA Ramban Arjun Singh Raju along with the Chief Medical Officer administered polio drops to children at District Hospital Ramban.

A commendable achievement was recorded on the first day of the campaign, with 54,436 children immunised despite adverse weather conditions. This accounts for 91.79 percent of the targeted 59,203 children in the 0–5 year age group across the district.

For effective implementation of the campaign, the District Administration established 435 vaccination booths, including 10 transit booths, across the four medical blocks of district including Gool, Ukhral, Batote and Banihal. A total of 1,785 officials and workers, supported by 85 supervisors, have been deployed to ensure smooth execution of the drive.

Additionally, mobile and transit teams comprising supervisors, teachers, health workers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers are actively engaged in implementation and monitoring of the immunisation process with a special focus on remote and snowbound areas, to ensure no child is left out. The IPPI campaign will continue for the next two days as per the district action plan for 2025.
