DODA: The Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (JKKVIB) Doda, in collaboration with the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), today organized a District-Level Awareness Camp at Gandoh to sensitize locals about key self-employment and entrepreneurship promotion schemes.

The programme focused on generating awareness about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP), the training initiatives of RSETI and the importance of financial literacy for sustainable livelihoods.

Director RSETI, Lalit Kumar-the Chief Guest, highlighted the role of skill development, entrepreneurship and institutional support in generating employment opportunities, particularly for youth, women and aspiring entrepreneurs in rural areas. He encouraged participants to avail the benefits of government-sponsored schemes to establish viable income-generating units.

Officers from JKKVIB and RSETI provided detailed information on eligibility criteria, application procedures, subsidy components and training support available under PMEGP and JKREGP. Participants were also sensitized about basic banking practices, credit facilities and responsible financial management.

A large number of participants, including potential beneficiaries, local stakeholders, and officials, attended the awareness programme. The camp concluded with an interactive session, during which participants’ queries were addressed, reinforcing the commitment of JKKVIB and RSETI towards promoting self-reliance and inclusive economic development in District Doda.
