It was informed that nearly 68,342 children below five year are being covered across the district under the IPPI campaign through 507 Pulse Polio Immunization Booths established at strategic locations.

A large number of parents and guardians accompanied by their infants actively participated in the immunization drive, reflecting strong public awareness and cooperation towards safeguarding children from polio.

Pertinently, a dedicated workforce comprising 102 supervisors and 2028 health workers, including Anganwadi Workers, ASHA Workers and volunteers have been deployed to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the programme.

The children who would miss or left out on the first day of the campaign will be covered during the subsequent two days through intensive house-to-house drive.

The Deputy Commissioner interacted with health officials, frontline workers and parents present at the venue and emphasized the importance of 100 percent immunization coverage to maintain a polio-free status. He appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Health Department, Anganwadi Workers, ASHAs, volunteers and other stakeholders for the successful execution of the campaign. Similar programmes were also held at Sub-Division and Tehsil levels including Assar, Bhaderwah, Gandoh, Ghat and Thathri.
