KATRA: Ms Mantisha Gupta, wife of Dr. Atul Banotra and daughter of Dr. Pankaj Gupta and Dr. Ujala Verma, has successfully completed her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra ,Jammu and Kashmir.

Her thesis, titled, “Reconfigurable Intelligent Touch Technology for 6Gand IoT Networks”, was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha and Dr.Manish Sabraj.Her research focuses on developing advanced routing algorithms with network slicingtechniques to enhance reliability, reduce transmission delays and improve security in nextgeneration systems.

Her work has been published in prestigious Q1 ranked IEEEinternational journals and presented at reputed IEEE conferences, contributing significantlyto the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and AI and ML.Ms. Gupta expressed her gratitude to her mentors, colleagues and family for their supportthroughout her academic journey. She has joined as a faculty in SMVDU and now looksforward to continuing her academic and research career.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
