SOPORE, BUDGAM: As part of the observance of Police Commemoration Day, Police Flag Day, and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Police in Sopore organized a debate on the theme “Role of Police in Nation Building’’ at the Auditorium Hall, Government Boys Degree College Sopore and Lucent International School, Magam Budgam.

These events aimed to highlight the crucial role of the police in maintaining law and order, safeguarding national integrity, and promoting peace, harmony, and public trust—key pillars of nation-building. Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically, sharing insightful views on the responsibilities and challenges faced by the police in strengthening the democratic framework and ensuring justice.

Senior officers of J&K Police, college faculty, and members of the civil society attended the programme. At the conclusion, participants were felicitated with certificates and mementoes for their commendable participation and thought-provoking ideas.

J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to engage with the youth through such interactive platforms to promote awareness, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the role of law enforcement in building a safe and strong nation.
