SHOPIAN: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, a range of awareness, outreach, and youth engagement activities were conducted across Shopian district today to reinforce the message of a drug-free society.

Educational institutions, departments and various stakeholders organized programmes aimed at sensitizing youth and the general public about the harmful effects of substance abuse while promoting healthy and constructive lifestyles.

Sports activities including an Inter-Zonal District Level Volleyball Championship were organized, by DYSSO Shopian at YSS Play field Sindo Shirmal, witnessing enthusiastic participation from young athletes from different parts of the district.

The event highlighted the role of sports in channelizing the energy of youth towards positive pursuits and away from the menace of drugs. Awareness initiatives were also conducted in educational institutions where students and staff actively participated in anti-drug campaigns.

As part of the activities, Nasha Mukt themed badges and awareness material were distributed among staff and students at Govt. Polytecnic college, Shopian to further strengthen public outreach and encourage greater community involvement in the campaign.

The programmes emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, youth empowerment, and community participation in combating drug abuse.

Participants were urged to act as ambassadors of change by spreading awareness about the ill effects of drugs and promoting healthy lifestyle choices within their families and communities. Other departments also conducted awareness activities across the district.
