BARAMULLA: As part of its sustained community policing initiatives and the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, J&K Police conducted 29 Thana Diwas/Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings across the district Baramulla, reaffirming its commitment to public welfare, grassroots engagement and collective action against drug abuse.
The meetings were held at Juhama, Kralhar, Gantamulla, Verna, Azad Gunj, New Colony Palhallan, Check Sari, Dewanbagh, Hartrath, Raipora, Khasipora, Wussan, Kohlina, Puthar, Walraman, Najibhat, Mughama, Hardshoora, Shrai, Matipora, Aabpathri, Pandoora, Gingle, Uranbowa, Zamboor Pattan, Girdanawa Nowshera, Kanchan, Gowhalta and Sultan Daki, witnessing enthusiastic participation from local residents, youth, elders and civil society members. During the interactions, police officers listened to public grievances and suggestions concerning civic amenities, public safety and developmental issues. Discussions focused on road connectivity, drainage, electricity, water supply, cybercrime prevention, tenant verification and other matters affecting day-to-day life. A major focus of the meetings remained the fight against drug abuse. Participants were sensitized about the harmful consequences of narcotics and urged to actively support the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan by sharing information about drug-related activities and encouraging preventive awareness within their communities.
The participants appreciated the outreach efforts of Police and expressed confidence in the police-public partnership model for addressing local concerns and maintaining peace and order. Police reiterates its resolve to remain accessible, responsive and people-centric while working hand-in-hand with the community to build a safer, stronger and drug-free Baramulla.
