Police organizes lok darbar/thana divas under ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan In Handwara

HANDWARA: In a sustained endeavour to foster stronger police-public relations, promote community-oriented policing, and intensify the campaign against drug abuse under the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, police in Handwara organized Lok Darbar/Thana Divas across various Police Stations and Police Posts in the district.

These programmes were conducted under the supervision of senior police officers, wherein Station House Officers and In-Charges of Police Posts interacted directly with members of the public, including students, youth, elders, traders, and representatives of civil society.

During the interactive sessions, participants highlighted various concerns pertaining to public safety, traffic management, youth welfare, and drug abuse prevention. Police officers attentively listened to the grievances and assured prompt and appropriate action. Several issues were resolved on the spot, while others were taken up on priority for further necessary action.

Special emphasis was laid on the objectives of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan. Participants were sensitized about the devastating effects of substance abuse and the collective responsibility of society in eradicating the menace. Citizens were urged to actively cooperate with the police by sharing information regarding drug peddling, substance abuse, and other unlawful activities affecting the social fabric of the region.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic public participation and was widely appreciated by the attendees, who expressed satisfaction over the accessibility, transparency, and responsiveness of the police.

Police reiterated its unwavering commitment to transparent, accountable, and people-friendly policing and affirmed that such outreach programmes and awareness initiatives under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan will continue to be organized regularly to strengthen police-community partnerships and build a safer, more secure, and drug-free society.
