• BJP holds seminar, plantation drive under Dr. Mookherjee Smriti Pakhwada in Kathua

Chadwal (Hiranagar), Kathua: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma addressed a seminar organized under the ongoing Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee Smriti Pakhwada at Chadwal, Hiranagar, in Kathua district. The programme was organized by MLA Adv. Vijay Sharma under the leadership of District President Updesh Andotra.

J&K BJP Vice-President and District Prabhari Priya Sethi, General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, MLA Adv. Vijay Sharma, Secretary Arti Jasrotia, District Seh-Prabhari Sanjay Kumar Baru, former MLA Kuldeep Kumar, along with district office bearers, Mandal Presidents, former DDC members, Sarpanches, senior party leaders, party workers, and prominent citizens participated in the seminar.

Sat Sharma, while paying rich tributes to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, said that he dedicated his entire life to preserving the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation. He said that Dr. Mookherjee fearlessly challenged the discriminatory permit system in the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir and launched the historic movement with the immortal slogan "Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan". He said that Dr. Mookherjee's arrest at Lakhanpur in Kathua while entering Jammu and his mysterious death in custody became a turning point in India's nationalist movement.

Sharma added that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP fulfilled Dr. Mookherjee's long-cherished dream by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A, ensuring that the Constitution of India now applies uniformly across Jammu & Kashmir. He said that the Smriti Pakhwada is an opportunity for every BJP worker to take Dr. Mookherjee's nationalist ideology to every household and inspire the younger generation with his ideals of patriotism, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the nation.

Priya Sethi said that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee's life remains an enduring source of inspiration for every nationalist. She said that his courage, sacrifice, and commitment to national integration continue to guide the BJP in its mission of serving the nation and safeguarding its unity.

Baldev Singh Billawaria said that Dr. Mookherjee's ideology is reflected in every initiative of the BJP aimed at empowering the common citizen. He called upon party workers to remain dedicated to organizational strengthening while continuing to serve society with commitment.

Updesh Andotra said that the people of Kathua take immense pride in preserving this legacy and reaffirmed that the district BJP cadre remains fully committed to carrying forward Dr. Mookherjee's ideals of nationalism, public service, and national integration.

Adv. Vijay Sharma highlighted the historic significance of Kathua, stating that the district occupies a special place in the life and sacrifice of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee as it was at Lakhanpur where he was arrested while entering Jammu.

On the occasion, Sat Sharma, accompanied by the senior BJP leadership and party workers, also participated in a plantation drive and planted more than 100 saplings, reiterating the party's commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development alongside nation-building.
