- BDO Shopian led initiative strengthens learning resources for competitive exam aspirants
SHOPIAN: A Book Donation Drive was held today at Noori Public Library, Gagran, Shopian, functioning under the supervision of BDO Shopian, under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan. On the occasion, around 50 books were donated by employees of the BDO Office and local residents.
These books will be placed in the library, where more than 100 students are preparing for various competitive examinations, thereby enhancing access to quality study material and creating a more supportive academic environment.
Speaking on the occasion, BDO Shopian, Shakil Bhat highlighted the importance of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan and stated that the initiative aims to promote the message of "Promote Books, Not Drugs".
He emphasized that encouraging reading and learning can play a vital role in guiding youth towards positive and constructive paths. He further informed that under the initiative, books are being collected and same shall be distributed among libraries and desiring persons in coming days with the aim of engaging youth in constructive learning and steering them away from drug abuse.
