RAMBAN: Demonstrating firm action against the perpetrators of drug menace, the District Administration Ramban has intensified enforcement measures, taking decisive action against individuals involved in drug-related offences.   

Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Varun Bhasin has disqualified five driving licenses and suspended 26 Vehicle Registration Certificates (RCs) linked to cases under the NDPS Act.

The action has been carried out under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan  and based on recommendations received from Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta,  reflecting strong inter-departmental coordination.

The driving licenses of five accused persons from different parts of the district have been disqualified after due verification. Simultaneously, RCs of 26 vehicles found connected with NDPS-related offences have been suspended, sending a clear message of deterrence.

The driving licenses disqualified by the ARTO are Arbaz Khan S/o Mohammad Shafi R/o Champa Seri Ramban (DL No. JK1920200000736); Muzffar Hussain S/o Fareed Ahmed R/o Halla Dharma Gool (DL No. JK1920240000020); Abdul Nisar Bali S/o Ghulam Mohd Bali R/o Pogal Ukhral Ramban (DL No. JK1920150006627); Manzoor Ahmed S/o Abdul Rashid R/o Panthyal Ramban (DL No. JK192023000118) and Tanveer Ahmed S/o Abdul Hameed R/o Mawalkote Sangaldan (DL No. JK1920140005686).

Moreover, the Registration Certificates of vehicles bearing numbers JK19A5655, JK19A7926, JK192571, JK19A5719, JK192933, JK19A1149, JK192183, JK192187, JK198956, JK19A3961, JK192406, JK194991, JK197055, JK196060, JK196950, JK199308, JK196799, JK198322, JK190258, JK192958, JK19A3946, JK198185, JK19A0511, JK198929, JK190754 and JK193691 have also been suspended.

This stringent action underscores the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and its firm commitment to dismantling the ecosystem facilitating drug abuse. The coordinated approach between the Transport Department and District Police is being further strengthened to ensure strict monitoring and prompt action against offenders.  

The district administration urged the public, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and support the collective fight against this social evil, reaffirming its commitment to building a safe and drug-free Ramban.
