BUDGAM: The Cultural Unit Kashmir of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) J&K organized a vibrant women empowerment program at Government Model Higher Secondary School (GMHSS) Chadoora. The event was attended by the Cultural Officer, Principal GMHSS Chadoora, AECO, faculty members, and enthusiastic students.
During the program, students expressed their thoughts on various dimensions of women's empowerment and brought to light the modern challenges women face in today's society. Their speeches offered valuable insights into the struggles and successes of women, fostering a deeper understanding among peers.
Cultural Officer Burhan Hussain praised the achievements of successful women, emphasizing the importance of role models in inspiring future generations. Principal, Huma Mir in her welcome address motivated female students to become sources of inspiration for the nation, highlighting the critical role education and empowerment play in shaping the future.
Speaking on the occasion, prominent social activist Advocate Hanjura stressed that while women's empowerment is rooted in religious teachings, a shift in societal mindset is necessary to truly achieve equality.
The event featured a captivating musical program and a short play, which showcased the talents of the students. A particularly emotional performance by a specially-abled young artist from Pulwama resonated deeply with the audience, as he sang touching songs dedicated to mothers, leaving many in attendance mesmerized.
To honor the contributions of all participants, mementos and certificates of appreciation were presented to the principal, students, and artists, acknowledging their efforts and talent in promoting the spirit of women empowerment. This initiative not only celebrated the achievements of women but also fostered a sense of community and support for continuous growth and empowerment among young girls and women in the region.
