KISHTWAR: Acting on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma and under the supervision of the Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Kishtwar Tasleem Javaid, the Motor Vehicles Department Kishtwar in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Police, conducted a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness and Vehicle Fitness Drive at Padder.
The drive was carried out in the presence of SDPO Padder Vijay Bhagat; SHO Padder Amrit Katoch and Motor Vehicle Inspector Robin Parihar, with the taglines: “Safe Vehicle • Responsible Driver • Secure Journey” and “Road Safety is a Shared Responsibility—Together, Let’s Save Lives.”
During the campaign, vehicles were inspected to verify their roadworthiness and compliance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules. Road Safety Compliance Stickers were affixed only to those vehicles that were found mechanically fit and carrying all valid documents required for lawful operation on public roads.
Drivers were also sensitized about the importance of road safety, safe driving, adherence to traffic regulations, maintaining valid documents, avoiding overloading and over speeding and ensuring regular vehicle maintenance. They were urged to adopt responsible driving practices and contribute towards making roads safer for everyone.
