SRINAGAR: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar, in collaboration with the School Education Department, today organized a series of awareness programmes at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS), Sonwar, Srinagar. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Srinagar and under the supervision of Tabassum Qadir, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar.
The awareness sessions were aimed at sensitizing students about important legal issues while fostering a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities. Adv. Laila Khalid, Panel Lawyer, delivered an insightful session on the NALSA (Legal Services to Persons with Mental Illness and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) Scheme, 2024, highlighting the provisions and benefits available under the scheme.
Additionally, Sehar Nazir, Assistant LADC, addressed the students and conducted an informative session on digital safety, focusing on legal awareness regarding digital frauds and online scams. She emphasized precautionary measures and the importance of staying vigilant in the digital space. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members, reflecting a strong interest in legal awareness initiatives. The initiative forms part of DLSA Srinagar’s continued efforts to promote legal literacy and empower young minds with knowledge essential for safeguarding their rights and making informed decisions.
