- Secures outstanding 98% score; participates in Guinness World Record-Breaking National AI Healthcare Initiative
JAMMU: Dr. Arun Sharma, a Medical Officer associated with the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, has successfully completed the prestigious Certificate Programme on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The programme was organized as part of the NBEMS AI in Healthcare Initiative and was conducted from January 25, 2026, to June 10, 2026.
Demonstrating exceptional academic performance, Dr. Sharma fulfilled all programme requirements, including attendance in 20 live instructional modules and successful completion of the final assessment. He secured an impressive 98% score, significantly exceeding the minimum qualifying requirement of 50 percent. In recognition of his achievement, NBEMS awarded him a certificate bearing Certificate No. NBE-AIH-2026-00693, issued on June 18, 2026.
The comprehensive programme was designed to equip healthcare professionals with a robust understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its growing applications in modern healthcare. Participants received advanced training in areas such as healthcare data analytics, clinical decision support systems, digital health technologies, ethical and regulatory frameworks, implementation strategies, and emerging innovations in healthcare delivery.
The curriculum comprised 20 structured modules organized under five key thematic areas: Foundations of AI Literacy, Clinical Reasoning and Model Understanding, Evaluation and Data Judgment, Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and Deployment, Safety and Trust in AI Systems. The programme enabled doctors to develop practical insights into machine learning, deep learning, algorithmic fairness, cybersecurity, data privacy, clinical AI governance, and the integration of AI-powered technologies into patient care.

A notable highlight of the initiative was its recognition by Guinness World Records™ for achieving the title of “Most Viewers of an Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Livestream on YouTube.” As a participant in this historic national educational initiative, Dr. Sharma was also awarded a Certificate of Participation from Guinness World Records, acknowledging his contribution to the record-breaking event.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sharma emphasized the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in the future of healthcare. He noted that emerging digital technologies are increasingly influencing clinical decision-making, healthcare management, medical education, and patient outcomes. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and skill development among healthcare professionals to effectively harness these innovations for improving healthcare services.
