BUDGAM: The Inter-district Football Tourney organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K reached its thrilling conclusion at the Sports Stadium Chrari Shareef here. The tournament, specifically designed for boys under the age of 14, showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship from young football enthusiasts representing various districts within the Kashmir division.
In the first semi-final encounter, Baramulla emerged victorious with a convincing 4-0 win over Kulgam, who couldn't find the back of the net throughout the match. The second semi-final clash between Kupwara and Bandipora saw a closely contested battle, with Bandipora securing a narrow 5-4 victory over their opponents.
The highly anticipated final match between Baramulla and Bandipora was fiercely competitive. However, adverse weather conditions and heavy rainfall led to the match being called off, resulting in both teams being declared joint winners of the championship. The closing ceremony was marked by a presentation of mementos to both the winning and runner-up teams, acknowledging their outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
