RAMBAN: Government Degree College Ramban today organised Poster Making and Essay Writing Competition as part of the ongoing 100-Day Campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan(NMJKA). The programme was conducted under the overall supervision of the Principal Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri. The event aimed to generate awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to express their ideas creatively through posters, essays, and slogans promoting a drug-free society.
In his address, Associate Professor Prof. Sanjay Kumar Katal appreciated the efforts of the NCORD Committee, faculty members, and students for their active participation in the event. He stressed the importance of involving students in such activities to spread awareness in society about eliminating the menace of drug abuse. He also encouraged everyone to contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vishal Baloria. Speaking on the occasion, the Convener of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Prof. Ram Parkash, appreciated the students for their creativity, talent, and the meaningful messages reflected in their posters and essays. He encouraged the participants to continue contributing to social awareness initiatives through such constructive activities.
The competitions were judged by a jury comprising Dr. Rabinder Kumar, Prof. Neetu Sharma, and Dr. Anuj Gupta, who appreciated the participants for the quality, originality, and social relevance of their work.
In the Poster Making Competition, Aditi Thakur secured the first position, followed by Sumeera Ashraf Wani bagging second position and Tarandeep Kaur securing third position. In the Essay Writing Competition, Unnati Mahajan secured the first position, while Neha Thakur and Romesh Kumar secured the second and third positions, respectively.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Arjun Gupta, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and reiterated the institution’s commitment to making society free from the menace of drug abuse.
