KULGAM: On the culmination of the special phase of Vande Mataram, a mass singing of the National Song was held today at the Mini-Secretariat Kulgam to commemorate and pay homage to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, along with officers, officials, students and members of civil society, who gathered to collectively sing the iconic national song Vande Mataram, reflecting a spirit of patriotism, unity and deep respect for the martyrs of the freedom struggle.

On the occasion, speakers highlighted the immense sacrifices made by the martyrs in securing the country’s freedom and emphasized the importance of remembering and honouring their legacy. They urged people, particularly the younger generation, to draw inspiration from the courage, dedication and patriotism displayed by the freedom fighters.

During the programme, a signature campaign was also launched to encourage public commitment towards upholding the ideals of the nation. Students who secured top positions in the painting competition organized as part of the programme were also felicitated.
