AWANTIPORA: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), today celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm.The programme was organized by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, and featured various sports activities, including Cricket, Badminton and Table Tennis.

The programme aimed to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and physical fitness among students witnessed huge of students who were encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities and hone their talents for participation at national and international levels.IUST encourages student participation in extracurricular activities which are credited and integrated with mainstream academics. Pertinently, Academic Council under the chairmanship of Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice chancellor has approved Constitution of Sports Advisory Committee to formulate and implement the mechanisms whereby youth would be trained for national and international level competition.
