KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today flagged off ‘Poshan on Wheels’ rally, an IEC campaign about the Poshan Schemes, here at D.C Office Kupwara. District Programme Officer ICDS Kupwara, Tanveer Hakeem; CDPO Kupwara, Mujeeb Wani were present on the occasion.
The rally saw participation of large number of Anganwari Workers of Poshan Project Kupwara and other stakeholders who were holding banners and placards, spreading awareness about the Poshan Schemes and healthy lifestyle. The rally went through different streets of Kupwara town, making the commitment for a Malnutrition free Kupwara.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the aim of the rally is to create awareness about the importance of nutrition and healthy practices among the masses. She impressed upon the officers and field functionaries to sensitize the people at ground level regarding balanced diet and healthy life style practices. She stressed the administration's commitment to improving health and nutrition outcomes in the district, especially for women and children, and urged the community to actively participate in the campaign.
DPO Kupwara, Hakeem Tanveer also spoke and said that the department is making concerted efforts to reach the benefits of Poshan Schemes to the targeted beneficiaries for which rigors IEC campaign is held across the district.
