- Directs enhanced credit flow, social security coverage in district
BARAMULLA: The District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting was held today under the chairmanship of DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, to review the financial progress of various government-sponsored schemes and banking sector performance in the district.
During the meeting, while reacting to the concerns raised by several departments regarding delays in loan disbursement by banks, particularly under the Prime Ministerâs Employment Generation Programme, DC directed banks to expedite the processing of cases as per guidelines to facilitate self-employment opportunities.
He also emphasized the need to strengthen priority sector lending and achieve saturation of Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) under PM Kisan. To ensure comprehensive coverage of social security schemes, DC directed the formation of a subcommittee to identify beneficiaries of all government schemes, department-wise, and target them for enrollment under various welfare initiatives.
He also instructed officials to organize awareness sessions to educate people about government welfare schemes and financial assistance programs. Additionally, the DC launched the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for the financial year 2025-26, prepared by NABARD. The PLP serves as a roadmap for boosting credit flow, particularly in agriculture, MSMEs, and rural infrastructure, to promote economic growth and self-employment.
The meeting was attended by District Agriculture Officer, District Lead Manager, Representative of RBI, DDM NABARD, bankers, sectoral officers, and other stakeholders.
