JAMMU: An expert lecture on drug abuse awareness, prevention and intervention was organised at the NCC Training Academy (NTA), Nagrota, under the 1 J&K Naval NCC Unit Srinagar, as part of the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) IEC campaign.

Over 300 NCC cadets, ANOs, PI staff and officials attended the session under Camp Commandant Cdr Somesh Kumar Singh. Dr Rachna Devi, Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor, GCW Gandhinagar, delivered the lecture covering symptoms, early warning signs, peer pressure resistance and community-level interventions related to drug abuse.

Cdr Tej Ram Sharma, Executive Officer, 1 J&K Naval NCC, contextualised the session within the NMBA's Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign of the J&K Government, stressing the role of grassroots awareness in combating drug abuse. The session included an interactive discussion where cadets raised concerns and sought guidance.
