SOPORE: Police in Sopore organised a three-day training programme for the first batch of Investigating Officers (IOs) focusing on NDPS cases, aimed at strengthening the quality of investigations across Police District Sopore.

The workshop-cum-training programme was inaugurated by SSP Sopore Shri Iftkhar Talib–JKPS at the Conference Hall DPO Sopore. The programme was attended by Addl. SP Sopore, Senior Prosecuting Officers, SDPOs, DySP Ops, DySP DAR (Nodal Officer Trainings), SHOs, and Investigating Officers.

The training programme is designed to enhance the professional competence of IOs, with special emphasis on quality investigation leading to higher conviction rates. Key areas of focus include proper evidence handling, documentation, identification of common lapses during investigation and measures to rectify such deficiencies.

The sessions over the next three days will cover key legal provisions under the NDPS Act and best practices for effective investigation of NDPS cases, aimed at ensuring that cases are investigated in a thorough, legally sound and result-oriented manner.

Police emphasised that such capacity-building initiatives are a crucial step towards strengthening enforcement under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, by ensuring that NDPS cases are investigated with greater precision and professionalism. Police reiterated their commitment to continuous training and skill enhancement of officers to improve investigative standards and ensure effective delivery of justice.
