SRINAGAR: Social Welfare Department (SWD)–SANKALP Hub for Empowerment of Women, Srinagar, organized a distribution drive of educational kits today at Government Primary School Gandbal and Government Girls Middle School Khonmoh, reinforcing its commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable education.
The initiative was designed to support students from underserved communities by equipping them with essential learning materials such as school bags, notebooks, stationery, and other academic supplies. The program was conducted in the presence of officials from the Social Welfare Department, along with school staff, reflecting a collaborative effort toward improving educational access.
Addressing the gathering, Gender Specialist and Specialist in Financial Literacy emphasized the department’s ongoing dedication to reducing educational disparities and strengthening access for economically disadvantaged students. They noted that such interventions play a vital role in encouraging regular school attendance while also motivating children to participate more actively in their studies.
Teachers and school authorities highlighted that the distributed kits would greatly assist students in their daily academic activities and ease the burden on their families. Reaffirming its mission, the Department of Social Welfare, Mission Shakti Srinagar stated its intent to continue similar outreach initiatives across the district, ensuring that every child is empowered with the resources needed to pursue quality education and build a brighter future.
