JAMMU: Appealing to the residents of Jammu & Kashmir to devote time towards holistic fitness to mark the occasion of International Yoga Day, BJP J&K President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with BJP J&K General Secretary and former Deputy Mayor Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria, participated in a yoga programme organized by the Dogra Seva Sambhal Trust at Gangyal, Jammu. BJP District President Naresh Singh Jasrotia was also present and joined the yoga exercises along with other participants.

Sat Sharma, addressing on the occasion, said that Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a complete way of life that promotes harmony between the body, mind, and soul. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yoga has gained global recognition and has become a symbol of India’s ancient wisdom and cultural heritage.

Sharma emphasized that a healthy society is the foundation of a strong nation and urged people, particularly the youth, to adopt Yoga as a daily habit. “The vision of a Viksit Bharat can only be realized when our citizens are physically fit, mentally strong, and socially responsible. Yoga helps create disciplined individuals who contribute positively to nation-building,” he said.

Sat Sharma appealed to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to actively participate in International Yoga Day programmes being organized in their localities and to make Yoga an integral part of their daily routine for a healthier and stress-free life. Baldev Singh Billawaria said that Yoga is a powerful tool for preventive healthcare and social well-being. He noted that regular practice of Yoga can help reduce lifestyle-related diseases and improve overall quality of life. He urged citizens to embrace Yoga and encourage their families to do the same. Naresh Singh Jasrotia said that Yoga strengthens both the individual and society and called upon people to remain connected with this invaluable heritage of India.
