JAMMU: Reacting sharply to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement that he would never support the BJP, BJP spokesperson Dr Abhijeet Jasrotia today described the remarks as a reflection of political ego and self-obsession rather than political reality. “Those who studied in the BJP’s kindergarten are today claiming they will never support the BJP. It is a bizarre statement,” Jasrotia said.
He added that the BJP does not depend on the support of individuals who hold little political relevance at the national level. “The NDA already enjoys a clear majority in Parliament and has a strong mandate from the people of India.”
Jasrotia emphasised that Omar Abdullah seems to forget that politics is about public service, not personal ego. “The BJP has consistently worked with all sections of society and remains committed to development, good governance, and national progress. Whether someone chooses to support the BJP or not is immaterial when the people of the country have repeatedly placed their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership from past 12 years & still counting. He also said that NDA alliance has brought the country from trust deficit UPA-1 UPA-2 to a real progressive alliance trusted by Indians across the Globe .
