ANANTNAG: The Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with the State Agriculture Department of Anantnag, successfully organizes a Human Resource Development (HRD) Programme at the Mushroom Development Office in Mattan, Anantnag. The event aimed to enhance the agricultural knowledge and skills of farmers in the region.
The programme featured distinguished experts in the field, with Deputy Director (PP) Dr. Mithilesh Kumar Arya serving as the key speaker. Dr. Arya delivered a detailed presentation on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques, emphasizing sustainable pest control methods for better crop yield. Assistant Plant Protection Officer (PP) Dr. Haroon Rashid Hakla, introduced the NPSS App, a technological innovation aimed at helping farmers monitor and manage pest-related issues more efficiently.
Also, AEO Anantnag Abid Showkat spoke on the importance of organic farming, encouraging farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices for long-term agricultural sustainability. Mushroom Development Officer, Mattan Showkat Hussain was also present at the event and praised the initiative. He highlighted the importance of such programs organized by the Ministry, which play a pivotal role in uplifting the farmers and ensuring their well-being.
The event saw active participation from farmers across Anantnag District, along with agriculture officials from the region.
