BANDIPORA: District Judiciary Bandipora on Thursday held a condolence meeting at the New District Court Complex to mourn the demise of Smt. Shakti Devi, revered mother of  Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, who passed away on June 20, 2026.

The condolence meeting, chaired by Jeema Bashir, Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, District Legal Services Authority), Bandipora, was attended by Ahsan Parvaiz Malik, Additional District Judge, Bandipora; Iqbal Ahmad Aakhoon, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora; Amandeep Singh, Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora, besides officers, officials and staff of the District Judiciary.

The participants expressed profound grief over the irreparable loss and conveyed their heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Justice Sanjeev Kumar and the bereaved family. Rich tributes were paid to the departed soul, remembering her life of grace, compassion, dignity and selfless devotion.

Special prayers were offered for eternal peace to the departed soul and for strength and solace to the bereaved family to bear the immense loss. As a mark of respect, a two-minute silence was observed.

The District Judiciary Bandipora reaffirmed its solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time and prayed that the Almighty grants eternal peace to the departed soul and bestows courage, patience and fortitude upon the family to overcome this irreparable loss.
