• Amarnath Yatra is symbol of cultural heritage

JAMMU: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raman Suri has appealed to devotees from across the country to participate in the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in large numbers, saying the people of Jammu Kashmir are eagerly waiting to welcome them with open hearts. He said elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, comfortable and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage, while describing the annual Yatra as a symbol of India’s faith, unity and cultural heritage.

Suri said that under the dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the administration, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, security agencies and civil departments have made unprecedented preparations for the pilgrimage. He said the multi-layered security grid, backed by Jammu Kashmir Police, CRPF and other Central Armed Police Forces, has been strengthened with modern surveillance systems, CCTV monitoring, drone surveillance, bomb detection squads, sniffer dogs and anti-sabotage measures. He added that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs is continuously reviewing the arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of every pilgrim.

Highlighting the transformation of Jammu Kashmir over the past few years, Raman Suri said devotees will witness a new Jammu Kashmir equipped with modern Yatri Niwas, upgraded reception centres, improved sanitation and healthcare facilities, seamless road, rail and air connectivity, widened highways, new tunnels and bridges, making travel easier and more comfortable than ever before.

He said Jammu has also emerged as a major destination for pilgrims and tourists alike, with attractions such as the spiritually uplifting Tawi Aarti on the banks of Surya Putri, the modern waste to wonder park, Tirupati Temple, improved public amenities and enhanced civic infrastructure adding to the overall experience. These developments, he said, reflect Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of transforming Jammu Kashmir into a world-class destination for pilgrimage and tourism.

Raman Suri said the administration, security forces and the people of Jammu Kashmir are fully prepared to ensure a peaceful and memorable yatra. “Baba Barfani is calling his devotees once again. Come in large numbers to seek his blessings. Jammu Kashmir stands ready to welcome every pilgrim with warmth, devotion and unmatched hospitality,” he said.
