• Extension of last date for submission of comments/counter comments on the Consultation Paper on ‘Formulation of a Regulatory Framework for Application-based Linear Television Distribution (ALTD) Services (Including Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) Services)’

NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a Consultation Paper on ‘Formulation of a Regulatory Framework for Application-based Linear Television Distribution (ALTD) Services (Including Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) Services)’on 6thApril 2026. The last date for submission of comments on the issues raised in the Consultation Paper by the stakeholders was fixed as 4thMay 2026 and for counter comments as 18thMay 2026.

In view of the requests received from stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments, on the ground that the subject matter under consideration involves complex technical, operational and regulatory dimensionsand required detailed examination, including international approaches and best practices, it has been decided to extend the last dates for submission of written comments and counter comments by11th May 2026 and 25th May 2026 respectively. No further requests for extension would be considered.
