- Reaffirms commitment to a cleaner and sustainable future
BARAMULLA: Marking World Environment Day, Police in Baramulla organized a large-scale plantation drive across various locations in the district, reinforcing its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officers, officials, civil society members, students, and local residents, who collectively planted a variety of saplings to promote ecological balance and enhance green cover in the district. The drive was conducted under the theme of environmental responsibility, highlighting the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, officers emphasized that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and that every planted sapling represents a step towards a healthier, cleaner, and greener tomorrow. Participants were also sensitized about the importance of afforestation, waste management, and adopting environmentally conscious practices in daily life.
The plantation drive reflects J&K Police's broader vision of community engagement beyond policing, encouraging collective action for social and environmental well-being. The department remains committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to a sustainable future and strengthen the bond between the police and the community.
J&K Police appeals to the public to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts and work together to safeguard nature for generations to come. "Plant a tree today, nurture a future tomorrow."
