KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired the meeting of District Level Committee (DLC) to review the verification of all beneficiaries in the Public Distribution System database in the district. The Committee has been framed by the Government under the Chairpersonship of Deputy Commissioner consisting of ACR, ACD, DSWO as members and AD FCS&CA as Member Secretary. 

The committee has been mandated to verify the eligibility of all beneficiaries enrolled in the PDS database, in light of applicable rules, and ensure weeding out of ineligible beneficiaries there from. The committee shall ensure inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries, if any identified in appropriate groups/ categories under PDS, besides, ensure completion of e-KYC of all pending beneficiaries eligible under PDS.

On the occasion, the DC stressed upon the officers to speed up the process of re-verification of all beneficiaries especially belonging to AAY and PHH by checking their current income status to ensure accuracy of data on the PDS.  She also directed them to ensure 100% e-KYC of the beneficiaries and adding the left out beneficiaries if any in the system.

To ensure speedy re-verification and updation in PDS, the DC directed for constitution of Committees at Block and Panchayat levels which will conduct extensive survey and streamline the database. The meeting was attended by ACR Kupwara, AD Food CS &CA, DSWO, DIO-NIC and other concerned.
