POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today convened a meeting of Army and civil officers to discuss the construction of roads and the enhancement of mobile connectivity in remote and inaccessible areas of Poonch. The meeting focused on the pressing challenges of mobile connectivity in these regions and the timely completion of crucial road projects.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for immediate action, directing all Executive Engineers to prioritize the repair and upgrading the existing roads. He also asked the Army officers to provide a comprehensive list of roads of remote areas requiring attention to improve connectivity.

During the discussions, it was revealed that 40 tower locations have been identified for boosting mobile connectivity, with 27 on state land and 13 on forest land, for which allotments have been issued to BSNL. Currently, five of the new towers are operational, serving areas such as Kasulian, Dokri, Jhulaas and Galutta.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that improved mobile connectivity is vital for the overall development of these remote areas, ensuring that residents have access to essential services and communication.
