KATHUA: The Kathua unit of Social Welfare Department today organised an event on Nasha Mukat Abhiyan at Town hall here at Tehsil Headquarters Nagri. Director Social Welfare, Jammu Dr. Bharat Bushan presided over the function as Chief Guest. CMO Kathua and EO PR Sangra were the guest of honour. DSWO Kathua Varun Kumar Choudhary formally welcomed the guests.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director Social Welfare Bharat Bhushan spoke on the ill effects of Drugs and apprised the people of steps people shall take at individual level and societal level to curb the menace. DSWO Kathua in his address threw light on how menace of drug breaks the individual first, then the family and finally the society.

During the event students of Govt. HSS Nagri were felicitated who have performed a theme based skit depicting importance of stakeholders role in implementing Nasha Mukat Bharta Abhiyan. Earlier, Director Social Welfare Department flagged off a Rally organised by students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Nagri aimed at spreading awareness against Drug Abuse.

AD Administration (SWD) Pallvi, AD Scheme (SWD) Shivani Gandotra, TSWO Kathua Vishav Bandhu sir Sharma, staff of DHEW and CHC were also present during the event.
