• DC assures continuous support to affected families

KATHUA: District Administration Kathua under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma today organised relief distribution camps in Kathera, Bhed Balode, Janglote, Dilwan and Bohra Panchayats to extend support to families affected by the recent spell of heavy rains and floods.

During the camp, essential relief material including blankets, dry ration, mattresses and tents were distributed to the affected households to mitigate their immediate hardships. The exercise formed part of the administration’s continued outreach efforts to provide succor to people who have borne the brunt of torrential rains, floods and damage to property.

Interacting with the locals, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration has been on the forefront in ensuring timely relief and rehabilitation in all the calamity-affected areas. He assured that every possible assistance will be extended to safeguard the well-being of the people and to bring their lives back to normalcy at the earliest. He further reiterated that restoring essential services, supporting displaced families, and addressing public grievances remain top priorities of the administration.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed revenue and field officers to maintain close liaison with the people, promptly assess damages to houses and livestock and submit detailed reports for early sanction of compensation under relief provisions. He emphasised that no affected family should feel unattended in this hour of crisis. ADC Kathua Vishavjeet Singh, Tehsildar Kathua Vikram Kumar along with other revenue officials were present during the relief distribution and interacted with the affected families to take firsthand account of their concerns.
