H&H deptt conducts awareness camp for aspiring artisans at Zainapora Shopian

SHOPIAN: As part of the public outreach programme of the department, one day seminar cum awareness camp was organized by the Handicrafts and Handloom department Shopian today at Zainapora. Sub Divisional Magistrate Zainapora, LDM J&K Bank Shopian, representatives from DIC Shopian and EDI Shopian were present.

More than 100 artisans and local people attended the event with enthusiasm. SDM Zainapora deliberated upon the importance of the sector for the UT economy and exhorted the participants to avail the benefits offered under different departmental schemes. LDM Shopian in his address assured the artisans of hassle free financing of their cases sponsored by the department.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
