SRINAGAR: According to Chief Engineer KPDCL, that in view of emergency restoration of damaged portion of tower no. 95 A of 132 KV D/C Zainakote-Pattan Transmission Line, the power supply from 33kv feeders including Nowpora, Arampora, Sopore, Watergam, Bandipora & SIDCO, Kupwara Hotline, Kupwara Old, MES, Handwara Hotline & Handwara Old, Dollipora, Kralpora, Hyhama, Pattan, Gulmarg, HMT and Markundal to respective receiving stations including Panzipora, Sher Colony, Sopore-I& II, Arampora, Sidiq Colony, Pattan, Nihalpora, Mulgam, Chogal,Dolipora, Vilgam, Tarathpora shall remain affected on September 09 &11 from 9:00Am to 3:00Pm.

The areas to remain affected include Nowpora, Arampora, Sopore, Watergam, Bandipora & SIDCO, Kupwara Hotline, Kupwara Old, MES, Handwara Hotline & Handwara Old, Dollipora, Kralpora, Hyhama, Pattan, Gulmarg, HMT, Markundal and adjoinining areas. Similarly, the power supply from 33 KV Lisser Hiller line to receiving stations including Aarkhoshipora, Hiller Bahi and Shankerpora shall remain affected on September 08 from 10:00Am to 3:00Pm.

The areas to remain affected include Hiller, Shankerpora, Sagam, Aarkhoshipora and adjoining areas. Also, the power supply from 33 KV Mattan Pahalgam line to receiving stations including Salia, Hutmurrah, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot & GIS/ AIS Pahalgam shall remain affected on September 09 &13 from 10:00Am to 3:00Pm. The feeding areas to remain affected include Pahalgam, Batkoot, Aishmuqam, Seer, Saller, Akad, Hutmurrah, Salia and adjoining areas.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

We at JK Monitor are profoundly saddened by the sudden demise of our Founding Chairman, Dr. Priya Ranjan. IN LOVING MEMORY Dr Priya Ranjan

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
