JAMMU: On the auspicious occasion of Shree Vishwakarma Prakat Divas, celebrated on Magh Shukla Trayodashi, Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha (PVS), J&K UT, inaugurated its newly constructed Sub Office at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, within the Vishwakarma Temple Complex. The inauguration was conducted by Puran Chargotra, former President of the Sabha, in the presence of Shashi Verma, President of the Sabha, and other distinguished members of the Vishwakarma community.

A conference was also organized under the chairmanship of Shashi Verma, with Puran Chargotra as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Chargotra expressed his joy over the completion of the Sabha Hall, a long-cherished dream of his, built solely through public donations. He lauded the efforts of Shashi Verma for his key role in bringing this project to fruition.

Speakers at the event acknowledged the significant contribution of the Vishwakarma community to the national initiatives of "Viksit Bharat" and "Make in India." They also paid homage to Bhagwan Vishwakarma, the divine architect who, according to mythology, created the universe through his immense scientific and artistic wisdom.

In his address, Shashi Verma emphasized the Sabha’s commitment to supporting the elected government, as per its constitution. He appealed to the government to declare a Gazetted Holiday on Vishwakarma Jayanti, allowing employees from the community to celebrate the occasion with devotion. He also reiterated the demand for the restoration of scholarships for OBC students to prevent disruptions in their education.

Prominent speakers at the conference included R.L. Chargotra (Chairman PVS), Vijay Kumar (Gen Secretary), Labha Ram Gandhi (West Pak Refugees Leader), Kuljit Rai, R.C. Angotra (Ex-President), H.R. Chargotra, Sham Chargotra (Cashier), Joginder Angotra, Balwant Kataria, Vinod Jatral, Mangal Dass Verma, Jagdish Kargotra, and presidents of various units.
